If that were true, a contemporary theology of creation would not be possible, and religious belief would become completely isolated from todays scientifically accepted concept of the world and humanity. In the meantime, it has become apparent that the boundaries between the sciences and different forms of life, belief and activity cannot be drawn as clearly as certain mechanistic world-views have assumed. This new state of dialogue has mainly been made possible by the philosophy of science and religion within American Pragmatism (Ch. S. Peirce), the significance of which Hermann Deuser illustrates and develops in seven essays with the help of up to date and applicable case studies.
